Samurai Gourmet Filming Locations

In March 2017, a food-centric show from Japan called Samurai Gourmet (Nobushi no Gurume 野武士のグルメ) appeared on Netflix in the US. It’s an easy-going show full of heart that I would recommend for anyone interested in Japanese food, but I was noticing as I was watching that they were filming at real places, not sets. I know the show isn’t a real travelogue but being the over-prepared travel planner that I am, if I happened to be near one of the restaurants, I could probably order some food and do Naoto Takenaka’s “food enjoyment face” while eating there. Listed below are the names and addresses of the places eaten in Samurai Gourmet Season 1, with a google map at the end that you can put on your phone so you can easily find your way to these places as well.

To find the restaurants, I primarily typed the Japanese name into google, and either went to the address in street view to verify the storefront, or compared the restaurant’s interior with the interior photos posted for the restaurant in tabelog.  The two cases where I didn’t do this was the bento one in episode 5, and the oden one in episode 11.  The bento labeled ‘Sanbyoshi’ (三拍子) and the restaurant ‘Ryu’ (りゅう) didn’t show any good results so I checked out the end credits and the section labeled ‘Shooting Cooperation’ had a bento making place in ep5, and a restaurant in ep11.  Did the same verification with those names.
